Q1: Do I need to buy the 30th Anniversary Pack to get Forerunner and its Catalyst?
A1: No. Dares of Eternity, the Magnum Opus quest, and the Forerunner Catalyst are free-to-play content accessible to all Destiny 2 players. Only the Grasp of Avarice dungeon and specific cosmetic ornaments require purchasing the Anniversary Pack.
Q2: How many kills does it take to finish the Forerunner Catalyst?
A2: Unlocking the masterwork requires 700 combatant eliminations using Forerunner. Crucible eliminations award accelerated progress, but farming PvE waves in the Shuro Chi encounter or Altars of Sorrow is significantly faster.
Q3: Does The Rock frag grenade trigger subclass-specific grenade effects?
A3: No. The Rock is classified as a generic kinetic explosive. It does not trigger subclass verbs like Jolt, Scorch, Volatile, or Threadlings, nor does it proc exotic armor effects that explicitly require subclass-aligned grenade abilities (such as Sunbracers or Contraverse Hold).
Q4: Why can't I interact with the strange marker in the Dares Valley?
A4: You must hold the Strange Key in your quest inventory before the environmental prompt appears. If the prompt fails to generate, check your inventory to confirm the key was successfully claimed from Xûr at Rank 4, then verify your line of sight aligns the distant floating symbol with the rock crevice.
